Most of the time it is correct to draw trumps straight away but this time you can draw just one trump with dummy’s King before taking a Spade ruff in the short hand.

As long as you ruff one spade in dummy, the short hand before drawing a second trump you will come to 12 tricks by way of  2 Spades, 6 Hearts (from the long hand) 1 Diamond, 2 Clubs and a Spade ruff (in the short hand)
