The opponents lead 4 and after second round of Clubs, West shows out plan your play.

Although the clubs have broken unexpectedly badly you must not panic. The lead has given you a free finesse in Diamonds and taken your trick tally to six- three Diamonds 2 clubs and Spade Ace. Since you have good control of all suits you will need to persevere with the clubs because the opposition can only cash two clubs when they get in and are still behind in the tempo to win tricks. East will get in and  play another Diamond which you win in hand  and you play a further club. East, who is now out of Diamonds,  will win, and have to either play a Heart to give you your 9th trick in that suit or play a Spade which you can finesse to give you your 9th trick in that suit. By the end of then hand you will win 1 Spade, 3 Diamonds, 2 clubs, 2 established Clubs and either a Heart or Spade trick. (NB if you guess the Spade finesse incorrectly and try the 10 you can always finesse the Queen next time).
