When you defend 3NT it’s the RACE for NINE
TRICKS for declarer and the RACE for FIVE TRICKS for the defenders
so COUNT those winners and losers.
ADVANCED TIP 684
With
fairly balanced (4333) 18 points only rebid 2NT when partner has responded 1NT
in first place
- Partner might have the barest 6 points and it will be hard to find a
9th trick- you do not need to bid Game on every hand.
