 Bridge Base produces some remarkable interactive computer software. And the new Mike Lawrence software on the 2/1 system is no exception. The software allows the user to comprehensively learn Alvin Roth’s system that maintains ALL 2 LEVEL RESPONSES TO 1 OF A SUIT ARE GAME FORCING. This of course would have to be played with a forcing 1NT RESPONSE for all hands less than 13 points. The software takes you through a journey from A to Z so that at the end of the interactive course you will be able to bid the following hand according to the preferred sequence 2 and play in the 6s Spade fit without any rushing about rather then a flawed sequence 1 where East is frightened of underbidding. In Sequence 2 you will be shown that once East replies 2H all subsequent bidding can be slowed down and more often than not, the best final contract can be easily more satisfactorily.
