The last hand of my session on OK Bridge last Sunday I was partnering Graham Lucy sitting North and we were somewhat bemused by the above hand when an inocous psyche suddenly came to life. I am sure I could play bridge for another 50 years and not receive or concede a penalty of 2900 again.
The play went as follows. (to avoid embarrassment I have not mentioned the East West names)
1. South HA, 6 10, 2
2. South H4 , J, K, 7
3. North DK, 3, 5, 8
4. North D2, 4, 6, S9
5. West CA, 8, 5, S9
6. South DA, S10, SJ, D7
7. North S4, 2, A, K
8, South DQ, C2, C10, DJ
9. South HQ, C4, H3, H8
10. South D10, C7, S8, C3
11. North SQ, 3, 7, CJ
12. North H9, C6, H5, CQ
13. North S5, C9, D9, CK
Fortunately we had agreed to make this particular hand this the last hand of the evening, as both of us was so gobsmacked, that we would have been unable to play another hand after it.
